There is a God...

After a pretty eventful day of a sick child in the house things have finally wound down. Downstairs it was quiet except for the hum of the refrigerator running in the kitchen and my fingers pecking on this laptop keyboard. I flipped over to Facebook (because I’m partially addicted) and saw an incredible story that happened to an old high school friend today.

Paraphrased, his story went something like this. He was driving to the airport this morning and where two interstates merged together on his route a simi-truck and a small car were involved in an accident just 50 to 60 feet in front of him. The truck physically ran directly over the car. Parts went everywhere, just like in the movies, he said. He, of course, slammed on the brakes to avoid the accident and swerved to the road side. He and the driver of the other vehicle were the first to the car. Expecting the worst they arrived to find the two passengers crawling out of the car through an open door. Two teen-aged girls. The car was no taller than the passenger side door anymore. After helping them to the side of the road, he returned to the car. He looked into the back seat fearing a gruesome scene, but saw a girl clinging to a teddy bear, apparently ok. He statement was that NO ONE should have walked away from the accident. EMS arrived and he backed away. End of story as we know it.

He closed his story with this simple sentence fragment.

There is a God…

I believe just as he does. There is a God and he is living and active in this world. Sometimes we get to witness His hand in action in miraculous ways just as my friend did today.

So blown away by this story that I had to share it.
