This evening marked a beginning of a step outside of my comfort zone. I signed up to work as a member of the leadership team for the Middle School section of our Youth Camp this summer. Uncharted territory for me! This should be five days of very interesting things. We all have our “zones” and feel stretched when placed outside them. My zone for the past nine years in church world has been behind a guitar or bass either leading worship or supporting the worship leader as a musician. Looks like I’m in for an adventure. As a father to two girls, being holed up with seventh and eighth grade boys is going to be REALLY different! This will certainly be a learning experience for me on many levels.
As I begin to prepare my heart, I am thankful for the opportunity to see God work in a different way and from an up close and personal perspective. My prayer is that students will be changed during these five days. I am also excited about the work He will do in me as well.
Ive been “Outta My Zone” more and more these days. I wonder what will be revealed…
